Artistic Duo (Sophie and Kirsty)

I have been working alongside artist Kirsty Louise Cresswell. since 2019 (We previously worked in a collective trio with Artist Brogan Louise Teggart, we now produce work together as an artistic duo.)
Our work is constantly evolving as the nature of our work is to reflect on contemporary issues which result in our creations being subject to change.
THE SWIRLS
We started out exploring this idea of the swirl encapsulating how the events of 2020 have impacted us all. It resulted in an art project that used collaboration with others to explore and discuss the emotional and mental impacts of the pandemic and varied interpretations of what the symbol of the swirls meant.

LET'S GET A CLOSE UP OF OUR POLYCHROMATIC JUMBLE

This was the title of our final major project that was presented in our MA Fine Art Show in January 2022 in the Hardwick Gallery, Cheltenham. This project was about addressing the socio politics of gallery rules and challenging art institution conventions to suggest that the way the artworld works needs to be reconstructed to be more accessible. The artwork itself consisted of a multifarious amount of artforms coming together to create an immersive installation that inhabited an area of the gallery.
